Motorcycle and Rickshaw Sales Surge in Pakistan: October 2025 Marks Four-Year High

Pakistan’s two and three-wheeler market has witnessed a remarkable upswing, with sales in October 2025 reaching the highest level in nearly four years. According to recent data, motorcycle and rickshaw sales surged by 20% year-on-year (YoY) and 4% month-on-month (MoM), touching an impressive 165,500 units. This strong recovery signals renewed consumer confidence and increased affordability in the entry-level mobility segment.

Over the past four months, total two and three-wheeler sales have reached 597,000 units, representing a 30% growth compared to the same period last year. This performance reflects a consistent upward trend driven by easing inflation, stable fuel prices, and the growing need for affordable personal transportation amid urban congestion.

Among manufacturers, Atlas Honda Limited (AHL) continues to dominate the market and has once again broken its own record. The company sold 140,178 units of its iconic Honda CD70 in October 2025 alone — surpassing the previous month’s sales record. The CD70 remains Pakistan’s best-selling motorcycle, known for its reliability, easy maintenance, and strong resale value, making it the top choice for daily commuters and small business owners alike.

Industry analysts believe that several factors have contributed to this exceptional growth. Firstly, the gradual stabilization of Pakistan’s economy has improved consumer purchasing power. Secondly, the government’s efforts to ensure the availability of locally assembled motorcycles at competitive prices have supported market demand. Moreover, a reduction in interest rates and better financing options from banks and microfinance institutions have made motorcycle ownership easier for low-income groups.

The rickshaw segment has also shown solid improvement, benefiting from rising demand for short-distance transport and delivery services. As e-commerce and ride-hailing platforms continue to expand across cities, three-wheelers have become an integral part of Pakistan’s urban mobility network.

Experts suggest that the current momentum could continue through the end of 2025 if economic stability persists. Seasonal demand ahead of the winter months, along with the increasing use of motorcycles in small-scale logistics and delivery services, is expected to sustain this positive trajectory.

However, the industry still faces challenges such as rising manufacturing costs, currency fluctuations, and the need for stricter quality standards. Despite these hurdles, local assemblers like Atlas Honda, United, and Road Prince are focusing on cost efficiency and improved after-sales services to strengthen customer loyalty.

The impressive sales figures in October highlight the resilience of Pakistan’s two-wheeler industry, which continues to thrive despite broader economic challenges. With over 165,000 motorcycles and rickshaws sold in a single month, the market’s comeback underscores how vital affordable mobility remains for millions of Pakistanis — not only as a means of transportation but also as a source of livelihood.

If this upward trend continues, Pakistan’s motorcycle and rickshaw sector may well close 2025 on a record-breaking note, reinforcing its position as one of the strongest segments in the country’s automotive industry.
